On 8 June, Pascale Delcomminette, the Administrator General of the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency, signed a framework agreement with Runway Incubator in San Francisco.
Based in the same building as Twitter, Runway accommodates some 80 start-ups specialising in new technologies (fintech, health, virtual reality, etc.) over a surface area of almost 3,000 m². This partnership is part of the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency's North America incubator programme, which aims to facilitate the internationalisation of Walloon technology companies. It also provides for the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency's to support start-ups incubated at Runway who wish to set up in Europe with Wallonia as a base.
There are already partnerships of this type between the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency and incubators in Philadelphia (life sciences), Montreal and at College Station, under our association with the University of Texas A&M.
